Treating Hemorrhoids At Home – Hemorrhoids Pain Relief
Most people either suffer or will eventually suffer from hemorrhoids. Hemorrhoids are swollen veins that can bulge outside of the anus and even bleed. The worst of these happen at what is considered stage 3 and 4 hemorrhoids. External pressures aggravate these, and the only two options left are treating them at home or seeking medical care.
Treating hemorrhoids at home is probably the easiest and most effective method. The number one recommended instant fix is by applying ice cubes to the swollen area. Ice causes the blood to flow away and reduces swelling. This is a great method even if you aren’t at home. Any place that sells cold drinks should have ice and water available for a quick application. Ice may not be the only answer.
If the ice only provides temporary relief or it just won’t help the pain, then visit the local pharmacy and pick up some over the counter cream. These creams have ingredients that provide a soothing effect and may even reduce the swelling.
If none of the above methods work for you, try out a hot sitz bath. Ice can cause tissue damage, but heat is soothing and will relax your muscles. Throw in Epsom salts or olive oil to add to the soothing effect.
Finally, remember to stop using classic bathroom tissue as this will aggravate and do the opposite of hemorrhoids pain relief. Switch to wet wipes or pads and consider using a garlic paste in between other treatments as this will help also.

I hadn’t considered the option of switching from regular toilet paper. Using wet wipes sounds like it could provide some real relief. But garlic paste? How does garlic help? I understand the paste could be soothing, but why garlic? I’m not sure I’d care for that much. Over-the-counter cream is always a good option, though.
